DAY ONE

Inbound—El Calafate, El Chaltén

  • Arrival El Calafate, greet and assistance from the terminal
  • Private transfer to El Chaltén, the notorious trekking capital of Argentina located beneath the towering Fitz Roy massif in Los Glaciares National Park
  • Afternoon to relax and acquaint yourself with this extraordinary Patagonian mountaineering village

  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Embark on a privately guided hiking excursion to Laguna Capri with a local expert, gaining insights into the unique flora and fauna of the area and savoring magnificent views of Mount Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, and Poincenot (if weather permits)
  • Or, for a non-active option, board a kid-friendly cruiser for a boat tour of the Viedma Glacier, one of the largest in all of South America
  • Picnic lunch at a scenic location overlooking the Andes
  • Return to El Chaltén in the afternoon
  • Dinner at La Tapera, a family-friendly Patagonian eatery that is favorite among locals and travelers alike

  • Private transfer from Lago del Desierto to El Calafate
  • Lunch on your own in El Calafate
  • Afternoon visit to the Glaciarium Ice Museum, an extraordinary glacial interpretation center that introduces you to the wonders of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field
  • After exploring the museum, descend to the Glacio Branco Ice Bar for the below-zero beverage of your choice
  • Private transfer to your lodge located on a former estancia on the outskirts of El Calafate

  • Explore Perito Moreno Glacier during a privately guided tour at Canal de los Tempanos,
  • Optional guided “Minitrekking” or “Big Ice” ice-trekking excursion across the glacier (maximum age of 50 for Big Ice and 65 for minitrekking)
  • Picnic lunch
  • Private transfer to your lodge

  • Private transfer to the border crossing at Cerro Castillo, onward to your hotel located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park
  • Lunch at your hotel upon arrival
  • Optional afternoon nearby excursion, or afternoon free to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting
  • Meet with your local expert guides before dinner to select your desired excursion for the following day based on your family’s interests and the anticipated weather conditions

Torres del Paine

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Full-day excursion of your choice in Torres del Paine National Park. If weather permits, you may choose to hike to the base of the “towers” (“torres”). Along with Mount Fitz Roy, these magnificent spires have become a symbol of Patagonia’s natural beauty and magnificence
  • Picnic lunch during the excursion
  • Return to your hotel via private shuttle
  • In the evening, meet with your local expert guides to select your desired excursion for the following day based on your family’s interests and the anticipated weather conditions
  • Dinner at your hotel

DAY SEVEN                              BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER

Torres del Paine

  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Full-day excursion of your choice in Torres del Paine National Park. If weather permits, you may hike through the breathtaking French Valley for an up-close view of the “horns” (“cuernos”) of the Paine massif and Mount Almirante. If weather doesn’t allow, hike to the cornices to discover where Andean condors nest along a remote cliff
  • Picnic lunch during the excursion
  • Return in the late afternoon, perhaps visiting flamingo-laden lakes and encountering other wildlife along the way (if you visit the cornices)
  • Dinner at your hotel

  • On the way, visit the famous fort at La Leona River where famous outlaws Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid once resided during their famous exile in South America
  • Continue to Lago del Desierto, a hidden glacial lagoon tucked away in a Nothofagus forest 37 km past El Chaltén
  • Private transfer by high-speed boat across the lake to your remote luxury lodge overlooking the north face of Mount Fitz Roy and the Vespignani Glacier
  • Dinner at your lodge

  • Optional: Chinook salmon fishing with an expert fly-fishing guide on Rio de las Vueltas beneath the magnificent Fitz

  • Full-day excursion of your choice in Torres del Paine National Park. If weather permits, you may choose to hike to the base of the towers (torres). If weather is unfavorable for the trek, you may hike to a cave with indigenous Tehuelche paintings or embark on a wildlife safari
  • Picnic lunch during the excursion
  • Return to your hotel via private shuttle
  • In the evening, meet with your local expert guides to select your desired excursion for the following day based on your family’s interests and the anticipated weather conditions
